Celebrities and activists have called for a Twitter boycott, after Rose McGowan was temporarily suspended from the platform on Wednesday night.

Now, the hashtag #WomenBoycottTwitter is trending, with a boycott of the platform planned from midnight E.T. on Friday, Oct. 13.

McGowan has been a vocal critic of disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein over the past week, following allegations of sexual harassment. McGowan found herself suspended from Twitter for 12 hours for violating the platform's rules.

After publicly accusing Weinstein of rape on Twitter on Thursday, McGowan is leading the protest, which has generated support from her close friends, actors and the public alike.
